Edited by Kenneth Morgan The Australian launch and related events in 2014 To mark the two-hundredth anniversary of the death of Matthew Flinders and publication of A Voyage to Terra Australis, the Hakluyt Society will launch its new scholarly two-volume edition of Flinders’ Investigator Journal in Australia later this year. Details of a number of events have now been finalized and are listed here for the information of members. A detailed overview of these two new Hakluyt Society volumes can be found at the publisher’s web site: www.ashgate.com/isbn/9781908145116 During each of these events Hakluyt Society president, Captain Michael Barritt and editor Professor Kenneth Morgan will be present and will explain not only the complexities in publishing these two volumes, but how the methodological detail Matthew Flinders put into constructing his charts casts light into the nature of this most extraordinary man.
